We focused on creating expansive glazing and a rhythmic vertical form that maximises the footprint of the new loft. We used large transparent glass surfaces to the outside and fluted glazed screens inside to manage light and volume, and ensuring the new level feels airy and connected.

We used of blue tiles for the dormer's exterior was a strategic choice to afford the project with a painterly materiality. Inside we used a soft, tonal palette to creates a sense of calm and continuity whilst remaining playful and exciting. The fluted glass screens used to seperate the bed area from the ensuite bathroom, provide privacy while allowing light to penetrate deep into the plan.

The patterned floor tiles and warm wall tones, elevate the domestic experience into something more curated and unique.

This project reimagines the traditional loft extension through a playful, tiled roof intervention that challenges standard architectural norms. The goal was to solve complex planning constraints while adding a distinct, bold character to a traditional terrace house.
