In this small Victorian terrace side return extension, we used fluted, terracotta wall panels to line walls from the interior living space out into the courtyard. This singular material plane dissolved the physical boundary of the house, creating a seamless architectural flow that makes the internal footprint feel significantly more expansive.
We introduced a continuous, skylight along the full length of the internal side wall to allow natural light to wash down the polished stainless steel surfaces of the kitchen units, providing a constant, shifting luminosity that highlights the rhythmic texture of the fluted walls. The sharp, clean lines of the kitchen contrast to the warm, earthy tones of the fluted panels and limestone flooring, elevating the kitchen into a professional-grade culinary sanctuary.
A shared palette of terracotta and stone for the external seating and planters, let the garden become an "outdoor room" of equal comfort, perfectly integrated into the daily rhythm of the home.

This project represents an exercise in industrial elegance, where a bold material palette is used to redefine the domestic threshold of a traditional Victorian terrace
